Alignment: The regime - Group: Villa Grimaldi personnel - Nationality: Chile - Gender: Unisex - Player's Age: any age - DISCLAIMER: Disclaimer:
The characters and the stories presented in DESAPARECIDOS are inspired by people and real facts, but their description and characterization is totally the result of imagination.
In the writing of the event numerous liberties have been taken, especially as regards the characterization of the characters, the images used and the succession of the various events, which never claim to reflect the reality of the facts or behavior of historical characters.
The interpretation of the players and the evolution of the narrative will lead to moments and events quite distant from historical reality.
It is not intention of the authors to express any specific position or to make judgments on specific facts that actually occurred -except to condemn the use of any form of violence by anyone- nor to diminish in any way the historical and personal tragedy of the Chilean people and thousands of families involved in the drama of the desaparecidos.
Teaser:
Cold, darkness, silence, screams, pain, tears. Only this could Buenaventura remember, holding no previous memories. Those who make question meet empty stares, for the servant can't be sad about something unknown. One can't be sad for something never felt. Like the fog that shrouds everything and blurs past and present, good and evil, hatred and love, Buenaventura moves through the rooms of Villa Grimaldi, dark and mysterious as a lost soul, with its thousand secrets and truths forever hushed. Until the time will come to let everything out.
Relations:
Ramira Luz can be frightening with a stare: she's a self assured woman, almost arrogant, especially when giving orders. Doctor Alejandro Romero has a familiar face, like an old friend, but Buenaventura still can't remember where and how they met. Buenaventura feels the watchful stare of Elisa Anderson, as she might want to pry on some sort of hidden secret.

She wielded, to the sweet burning of passion, taking his hand, following him into clandestine meetings. Basements became the alcove for lovers, the red flag a blanket for their love. Promises exchanged in the dark, shared revolutionaries dreams, fingers tied and fists raised. Red the cause, red their love, red the cause she married alongside him. Yesterday, today and ‘till death do them part, in sacred vow that binds them. Until the time of choices will come, to shatter dreams and illusions.

Teaser:
Since arriving in Chile, Sister Valeria has always cared for the less fortunate. After September 11th ‘73, she fought to save the lives of the so-called dissidents, mostly people trying to survive. She often wonders what gives her the strength to face the abuses without fear: are courage and compassion gifts of God's grace? Those who are seeding death and injustice, shall harvest their own fall. Let them try to silence the helpless cries, fearing judgment; and fear they should, for the Almighty will hear. Tremble they shall, for when the soldiers of Christ walk among the innocents, the unrighteous will fall into their own darkness

Monsignor Enrique Alvear Urrutia and Cardinal Silva Enriquez rely on her, but sometimes it feels like they wish her to be the first one to take action.

An obedient and holy life is that of nuns: early birds singing and praising their love for God, blessing His fruits with dutiful prayers and loving meditation. So many haunted nights Ana spent in her dark and cold cell, wandering through the thoughts of her sinful love, holding to the burning caress she felt on her heart. But without air fires die down, lungs dry out and the breath suffocates. Without air, Ana choked and was buried under ashes, in silence Sister Luz was born.

Teaser:
Mankind is used to failure. Men are flawed, but God gave them intellect and the opportunity to understand and make up for their mistakes. A Cardinal is a man, and as such is not exempt from error, but now, withstanding the spread darkness, Silva Enriquez faces the Junta and the highest clerics, for the Chilean Church should be among those in need of care and Christian solidarity. The crying, the wailing, can’t be ignored in silence any more. So he falls to his knees in front of the weakest souls, and stands as shield against those who would sacrifice them.
Relations:

Thorns, to sting the enemies, thorns on which to see their dripping blood, thorns, through which to obtain that long-denied but always deserved success.

Teaser:
Townley will never be a farm chicken, he's born to be a bird of prey. He is hawk-eyed, has the sharp claws of a eagle, the bird which proudly stand on the flag he is loyal to, and the confidence of a vulture. He will use all of his virtues to achieve his goal: avoid the spreading of the vicious weed which is communism. But just as the birds of prey which glide effortlessly from the Andes to vast lowlands, will he be able to move his pawns without becoming a prey himself? Will he accomplish his chilean mission or he will become a useless puppet? Or, even worse, a scapegoat?
Relations:
Argentina will soon need to face his own subversives, so it's better to keep in touch with them and therefore with José Lopez Vega. Teaser:
There he is: just enlisted in the army, his oath as a private still fresh. Young Marco Antonio, with the ordinance rifle in one hand and his twenty years soaked in blood and tears. Under the deafening artillery noise, he's been baptised by gunfire. Allende's death, the tanks, and the curfew. Twenty years and chasing another unarmed lad, his rifle levelled and ready to shoot. Twenty years and the orders to be complied to, without objection, even when it means ''cleaning up''. The time for innocence is over, either you grow up or you don't survive.

Teaser:
The brightest destinies are granted to men of his blood. Prince Borghese has always known this, since when, back in Italy, he spun his webs to raise a black flag over the places of power. A flag as black as the blood running through his veins. In Chile, that same flag has been raised over “La Moneda”: a green, fertile, soil on where to experiment a new order. Black blossoms will bloom over shaken hands and signed pacts, for those three colors waving over Rome will shift to the black of the night, once and for all.

Teaser:
Since she was a child she always knew blood: that of her father’s campesinos, working their broad property and beaten for stealing a handful of corn. She loved those red droplets dripping from the raw, flailed skin. She joined the DINA to see that blood again, to breath its scent, metallic and strong as the copper of her family’s mines. She’s a determined woman, Lieutenant Alba Piñera; she never regret her choice, uncaring of everything and everyone. Nothing, not even the threat of unknown love, will destroy her steely wall.
Relations:
She helped Miguel figuring out things in Villa Grimaldi; he's a good, hardworking guy, and they bonded. Before enrolling in the army she was studying history and followed Professor Gustavo Ruiz lessons with great interest. He had a challenging personality and was never boring. She has known Angela Bachelet for many years; when she still lived in her father's estate they threw many parties that Angela attended. She feels the disapproving stare of Sol Gutierrez who sooner or leater will learn a servant's right place.

Teaser:
One might wonder what kind of guilt is born by one who walks the path to Hell. What sins hide in his soul that he is able to walk unscathed past the infernal dogs standing on watch. Monsignor Urrutia shows strength in his faith, a heart full of hope, forgiveness and salvation, bringing the blazing holy word of God into the deepest darkness. Under his robe soaked with sweat, tears, blood and only God knows what else, Enrique, trembles, shaken by guilt, doubts and anger. For where there is deafening silence, God is absent, and the pain is even worse seeing those who should scream their outrage, remain silent. As it is looking in a mirror.
Relations:
Omar Venturelli Lionelli has made a name for himself and sooner or later will be a problem for the Church. Even when he had yet to realize what was happening, Cardinal Silva Enriquez never abandoned him; now they fight alongside each other. His previous meetings with Marcelo Moren Brito were not without threats and evil words; he doesn’t know how long he’ll be able to keep it up, but Faith will give him strength. Suor Valeria Valentin is a gift from God to the Chilean Church; working beside her is a -dangerous- honour.

Teaser:
A civilised nation is like a fertile garden: in order for it to thrive and bear fruit, it needs to be taken care of and kept with suitable moderation. Alas, the gardener's efforts and concern, no matter how diligent, not always suffice to prevent the weeds from spreading; and sometimes, however sad and hard it may be, one has to roll up one's sleeves. But pruning too must be done wisely, lest you uproot roses together with weeds. And it's certainly unwise to let others put hand to your garden.
Relations:

Teaser: Pompous Laura walked, boasting the Allende’s name and enjoying the golden light radiating from her brother Salvador and his position of power. Then one morning there was smoke and rubble, her life crumbled and that bright dawn became a mournful sunset. But her name survived like a death sentence and a curse, both idolized and loathed, a bulwark of resistance and a lineage to suppress. And to think that Laura only wanted a peaceful life for herself and her son Andrés Pascal… But in this cruel time, even life is a luxury.
Relations: She loves her son Andres Pascal more than anything and would give her life for him. She is friend with Ofelia Distal who is also her confidant. In Santiago she recently met Paul Schafer a charming land owner. He’s reserved, but also polite and educated.

Teaser:
Income previsions, demand and supply, such are the rules of the market. Eduardo has always been attracted by economy, but soon realized what was really in demand, and promptly complied. He’s capable of understanding what is needed and to gain from it. He overlooks that small misstep that military jail has been, he’s now out and has brilliantly landed in the DINA, where he’s agent Sandoval and he’s supplying what the Country asks for. Demand and supply, such are the rules.
Relations:
Patricio Zambelli Restelli does not forgive his past as a criminal and the two don’t get along. When he studied at the university he made a move on Juana Francisca Ramirez but was turned down. In Villa Grimaldi he’s one of the few hanging around Basclay Zapata beyond working hours.

Teaser:
Clara works for the DINA and is known as an impeccable, cold-hearted professional. Feelings are nothing more than a curse to her, and emotions are just a cancer that can bring even the strongest men to their knees. So Clara decided that it's better to feel nothing at all and just methodically execute orders. But now that hate is suddenly growing stronger and getting closer to her, will her dispassionate attitude succumbs to the rage?
Relations:
Palmira Almuna and her hit it off immediately, and now they understand each other without words. Antonia Castro is helpful and supportive, she could be a good ally. She has been knowing Pedro Garcia for quite some time: she warned him about his music, that would eventually get him into trouble, but he wouldn't listen. The cold eyes of Klaus Altmann are retrieving memories of past battles and mixed feelings she finds difficult to understand.

Teaser:
There is nothing that Manuel Contreras wouldn't do to accomplish the mission that General Pinochet gave him. The dissidents are just a cancer that must be promptly eradicated and the safety of the country must be guaranteed by any means. The DINA and Villa Grimaldi are the embodiment of his ideals, the iron fist that will crush the communist enemies. Contreras knows that some Generals are reluctant to knuckle under a ''Colonel'', but he doesn't actually care: all that matters is deserving the gratitude and the appreciation that the President shows him.
Relations:
Of his colleagues , Basclay Zapata is the one he least trusts, as it looks like he doesn’t belong to the DINA. Licio Gelli may be shadowed by more prominent figures, but has the discreet charm of someone with the power of shaping destinies. Maybe that is why he’s called Venerable. Priests like Cardinal Silva Enriquez are troublesome and unfortunately always difficult to remove without making any noise. Nelida Rivera is a peach. Teaser:
It's not easy being a woman as Mrs Jaria de Bachelet is: an educated anthropologist, an expert of human nature. She’s not the stereotypical chilean woman and mother, quiet and obedient. She proudly offers her daughter Michelle and example of emancipation and freedom to follow, but as she found herself with an absent husband, alone and with no help, she felt lost and powerless, as any woman dealing with a rebellious child would. As fear prickles her most sensible strings, it also quickly turns love into grudge, lies into half truths, damnation into salvation.
Relations:
Michelle Bachelet is her daughter. Since she enrolled into university she’s changed and Angela fears for her. She’s been knowing Alba Pinera since many years and still remembers fondly all their chatting at Alba’s family mansion. Gonzalo Santelices Cuevas is also a longstanding friend; they used to be very close.

Teaser:
They call him “El Carnicero”, the butcher. The DINA agent Cristobal smiles, and proudly accept such a compliment. He knows that appreciating meat, knowing where to cut, understanding the joints with a bare touch, is an art. And he, the master. Wonders are born from his blade, for it is led by his faith in Jesus Christ, who died and was resurrected for the saving of mankind. In the same way, all this drawn blood will save and resurrect Chile. Juan brings the Almighty’s justice into this world, without any pity or regret, for his is a true and right mission, one that fulfill
Relations:
A few years ago he heard that red rat, Andres Pascal Allende speaking his subversive ideas in a bar: he was stopped right before he could cut his throat and silence him forever. He tried bringing God’s bidding in the University, an hideout for red snakes, but Hector Hernan Gonzalez Osorio made him leave. He still remembers his disdainful eyes. Teaser:
Ramira Luz has come a long way in life: from a young recruit coming from the countryside, to the Army, to being a Lieutenant in the DINA. Still, she can’t forget the hunger, the shack where her family lived, all those little ones, brothers and sisters, how they hugged each other to get some warmth during the harsh winters. It doesn’t matter what she had to throw away or to do, on her way to Santiago with a bunch of rags. She never turned back to her old life, and ever will, fearing having to face the monsters silently haunting and following her shadow. So she looks ahead, hopeful to get away, determined, stepping towards new horizons.
Relations:
Buenaventura is a childhood friend, but they took different paths in life, and it’s easy to see who made the better choice. Now, Maria Isabella is shaken every time she sees her. She fondly remember Blanca Alfonsin as for a while she worked in her household and they were good friends. There is a strong rivalry with Lieutenant Gonzalo Santelices Cuevas: they are both from the Army, but he doesn’t like a woman having authority over him, since Ramira started working for the DINA.

Teaser:
For a journalist and man of science like him, is essential to understand the human mind, getting to know insecurities and strengths, the bright and the weakmindend. Navarro Valls, secular member of the Prelature of Opus Dei, is attracted to some rich and deep souls and to their vision: they are men who lived in a world apparently lost centuries ago, but they read his soul and gave him a reason to live. The road ahead is paved but perilous: each step requires a choice and the necessity of leaving something -or someone- behind. After all, ideals will never satisfy ambition.
Relations:
He hopes to see Soledad Moreau again after quite some time. Poor Giovanni Benelli can’t keep up with him and gets frustrated. He gets along well with Jean Marie Villot, especially regarding those they should favor and those that are dead weight. Being one of those responsible for Monsignor Jorge Arturo Medina Estevez new position, he’s eager to meet him.

Teaser:
Sometimes life asks for a fight, until the last breath. Marcia began her struggle at Punto Final, the newspaper she worked for, where her bravery only met fear, indifference and convenience. Her ideals broke against a stronger wall that only bombs will destroy where her pen failed. Sometimes life asks to marry a rifle, cradle a knife between the breasts, plan an attack with other MIR comrades. What life also ask is to drown sorrow when these brothers and sister in arms die. Life asks to never surrender, even when the pain for such losses is not the only wight one carries.
Relations:
She left Punto Final because Manuel Cabieses Donoso never liked her provocative articles and dind’t want to publish anything against the Government.
A simple man who believes in Saints and good fortune, this is Miguel. He lights a candle, makes jinx, and ask for a grace that sometimes comes through faith and some luck. Whether it is destiny or the Almighty who answers, it doesn’t really matter. Like that day, when he was hired for a safe, well paid job in Villa Grimaldi. Protected by the army, he only has to do chores, blind, deaf and overall mute. God sees and provides, and where he’s not reaching, fate, chance or destiny will make everything alright, as with his nightmares, those that turn his nights into sleepless wake.
Relations: Lieutenant Alba Pinera is nice and they are now friends. Paul Schafer looks diffident, and the thing is mutual. On the other hand working with Ingrid Felicitas Olderock is a pleasure: her orders are precise and firm.

Teaser:
If men haven’t learned their history lessons in free thinking classrooms, the time has come to teach them with weapons. As tanks and rifles have drowned dreams of freedom into pools of blood, the time has come to join the MIR. Where books have failed and lie discarded as lifeless corpses, weapons take life. Maybe one day there will be singing and poetry again, meetings and guitars playing, but since then, there will be bullets, and a civil war that Professor Ruiz is willing to fight.
Relations:
In the past he wrote articles for Manuel Cabises Donoso, who always listened carefully to his piece. He loves the poetry made by Carmen Yanez, he even met her at a book presentation where she signed his copy. Lieutenant Alba Pinera was once a promising student; it was a shame that she chose the military career.

- Costume: This character will have a mandatory but complimentary costume provided by the Staff.
Teaser:
Naive, but with a good share of optimism and a form of peasantly cunning, private Plaza is hurled into a bigger than him reality. His enthusiasm for the fascist ideal and his admiration for General Pinochet clash with everyday military life, limited to executing orders that often lead him to bend his knees and ask for forgiveness from God. He found himself wearing a uniform that was often stained with blood, and whose stains now tarnish his own heart. But in the end he made it: he's left the streets of Santiago and managed to be assigned to Villa Grimaldi hoping to leave behind the blood and the smell of gunpowder.
Relations:
Carmela Castro is her fiancee. She’s a good girl, but he worries about her. Moriales did the Academy with him, but now that they met again in Villa Grimaldi, he realized he’s not like he used to be. Rosario Alma Plaza, his sibling, is weaker and pliable and might be unfit for this snakes’ hideout. He can’t figure out how to get closer to Palmira Isabel Almuna, who’s an icy woman.

Teaser:
Working in the DINA is not easy for a woman. She's expected to be as capable as any man, and even more: she must be able to gain the enemies' trust, to seduce them, even to let herself be fucked in order to get the information she needs. And that's what, harshly, the Carabineros Lieutenant teaches her recruits. Frivolous, seductive, Palmira trains them to wear a mask and a life not of one's own, as if they were a second skin, without error or remorse, with the surgical coldness necessary to extract the decaying tooth that the dissidents are.
Relations:
Clara Ibanez is a strong woman and they get along very well. Sometimes Honorio Plaza stares at her and she doesn’t understand why. At least Private Plaza is more capable than his sibling, the rookie Rosario Alma Plaza. Ha provatto a civettare con il generale Covarrubias ma dopo un momento iniziale lui é sembrato non gradire.

Teaser:
Nothing is more important than order to Covarrubias. General of the Chilean Army, he gladly served Pinochet and made every effort to bring the society back to order, just to be replaced by a bunch of undisciplined soldiers and civilians. It his is duty to follow the orders without discussions, but he can't avoid to frown, worried about the amount of power and freedom allowed to those greedy hands.
Relations:
Has been in touch with José Lopez Rega for some time; his ways are peculiar, but his ideas are sensible. Elisa Anderson is a charming woman; reliable, efficient, yet subtly exciting. Quite the opposite of Lieutenant Isabel Almuna: she tried to flirt with him but he was quite annoyed by that.

Teaser:
The traitors of the State deserve a righteous death, in silence, with no one to mourn them or remember them. Carola was the first to die, and perhaps that's why it's the only name Alicia still remembers, but others have followed and one by one she's terminated and forgotten them. Without any remorse or a a tear to spoil her well-groomed appearance, DINA agent Gomez does not regret the lives she has claimed. Announced by the clicking of her heels, she's followed by her colleagues' long leers and the desperate eyes of those entrusted to her care. Nonchalant, impeccable, implacable, she smiles and obliges.
Relations:
Paul Schafer is a true gentleman, so elegant and polite. that it is impossible not to get along. Pious woman, devout Christian, fond mother, loyal servant. Antonia has always been humble, meek and obedient to men and to the Lord’s commandments, taking the Holy words as an example for a simple and dignified life, both for herself and her family. She silently walks not to disturb, her eyes lowered in front of the high personalities she works for, she speaks if questioned with hushed voice. Her hands bear trays, her fingers tick off Hail Mary’s and ruffle her children’s hair, silently praying God to never bear the Sweet Virgin’s sorrow. She prays she won’t ever see her child on the Cross.

Teaser:
When he was a child, Licio wanted to become a puppet master. It's ironic how he, somehow, realized his dream. They call him Venerable, but it has little to do with his age or his power. Like a snake, he slides unseen through politics and high finance, protected by his good friends, sure he will be unpunished. When you are controlling so many strings some of them can eventually get tangled or even break, but a good theatrical always knows when it's time to cut them.
Relations:
They say that Cardinal Jean Marie Villot lost his soul: nevermind, he can give him his own. He’s eager to see again Manuel Contreras. Teaser:
As Vatican Chancellor, the Cardinal casts his shadow far beyond Rome. Villot has made earthly politics his cross to bear and his mission to fulfill, surrounding himself with powerful and strong apostles, loyal and obedient soldiers of Christ. He is a servant of the State, of the State of God, and as such he pursues the Vatican's interests. True faith is the means to an end; there is no room for the illusions that led him to follow the divine vocationl that got lost among the velvets of the Holy See.
Relations:
Giovanni Benelli is the vice Chancellor and like any good politician Villot has him by the balls. Should he ever try to outsmart him, he will feed him to the sharks. Licio Gelli has enlightened him: that unwordly voice he once heard as a young priest, is strong within the Venerable: together they will give birth to a new religion. Monsignor Joaquin Navarro Valls is almost a friend, and the two respect each other, even though he envies Vall's meteoric ascent and career in the Vatican.

Teaser: Altmann is DINA's consultant and he provides any kind of advice on science, technique or experience. Being in Chile now is like a revival of the good old times and he can't help but feel a kind of thrilling excitement. Mankind will never change, that's the truth, and now he is even more sure about it. Ethics, morals, are just a fake pose; he trusts only experience and he knows that a man, any kind of man, given power will give up to his darkest and most perverted desires.
Relations: Umberto Ortolani is like a diligent student, eager and impatient to learn. He and Moren Brito are match made in heaven, the proof that there is God, after all. Teaser: Spoiled, bored, empty soul born from boredom… Basclay, is a cannibal who doesn't eat flesh but sufferance and pain. His hunger comes from fear of void, bore, and everything that is immoral, wrong, distasteful, dangerous, calls for him and makes him hunger. Villa Grimaldi and the DINA are a safe haven where all the entertainment needed is provided. He made a passion out of his work. He bites, hungry, on what he has now, with the desperation of a hungered carnivor, least someone try to steal his prey from him, taking away the sense he found in his life.
Relations: The attraction with Teresa Orosio Navarro is somehow intoxicating and he thrives in it. Outside work he constantly fears boredom, but luckily Eduardo Sandoval is one of the few able to entertain him. He doesn’t get along with Manuel Contreras; the Colonel predictable hunger for power bores him.

History is written by the winners, they say... But history is based on facts, and the facts, Fisher knows, are told by journalists. And journalists get paid by an editor, who in turn responds to the financial backers. The pen is not moved by the hand that holds it, but by the one that hands over the money. What will one day be written in books is what appears to the eyes of the world, and what the world wants to see is an efficient government in an orderly country.

Teaser:
The smell of fresh grass and the stink of fear, the fiery passion and the cold terror, friendly hands caressing the skin and harsh ones violating the body. The prayers and the screams, the blind anger and the resigned desperation. Cold, tears, blood, sweat and insanity. Poetry is a catharsis for Carmen, an excruciating thought from a past long gone. Today there is death and a mournful silence, and the pen that once danced at the tune of democracy and freedom, is forever broken.

At her book presentation she met Professor Gustavo Ruiz who asked her to sign his copy; he was enthusiast of her work.

Ofelia wants anything and everything: her husband love, the milky scent of dear Manuelita’s kisses, her safe job at the Ministry. But nothing is mote intoxicating than money to her. Dollars, pesos, liras that flow under her eyes every day at work. With money you can buy anything: men, ideas, affection. Teaser:
The naked prisoner shackled to the metal frame, the electricity flowing from the picana to the body, the limbs flailing disorderly, the muscles contracting, the ligaments and the bones breaking like paper from an old wind-torn newspaper. The screams of agony and finally the names of the comrades uttered among the grinding of teeth. How many times such a scene has been witnessed by Felix Buendia, the former factory worker assigned to the dread room, to daily look after those implements of pain that he knows so well, bound by the chains of his own private Hell.
Relations:
He used to read Marcia Scantelbury articles and even met her. Doctor Fernando Buendia Olivarez is a professional even if sometimes reprises him too harshly; it’s not always his fault! He knew he would get accustomed to death. The eyes full of tears, despair or acceptance, the eyes of the living are a sentence he can’t escape, if not hiding behind those still, empty of any life and and judgement, of the dead. He knew that serving his country and accomplishing his duty would require sacrifices, even that of his own soul. This is why the stares and the corpses of the long-gone dissidents have stopped haunting the dreams of Lieutenant Gonzalo Cuevas. Only one body, as soft as silk, as warm as hell, hides sinful in his dreams: hers, lying between his arms, her face a mask of pleasure. Yes, the dead he can escape, life and the living are a torment he cannot.

Ramon always despised the fearful, the hypocrites, those who hide under the comfortable blankets of power like the worst whore. By day his eyes are lowered on the pages his hands carefully turn, by night his eyes are wide open and alert, and in his hands wield a crowbar. No fear, convenience, or apathy can justify being on the wrong side of the war that Ramon fights. Come the morning fear will rise, but the night flows, passion blossoms, adrenalin pumps blood in his veins, and life is worth living for.

Rumour is that the last sound you hear from his victims is a grunt noise, a ''ronco''. Rumor says that he knows how to tell the truth from lies with a single glance and that he is the most feared and efficient member of the DINA. It seems like his words are feared as much as his tortures. Cold-hearted, dispassionate and mysterious, everyone knows Colonel Moren Brito for his persuasive techniques, which get even the most treasonous prisoners to confess all they know. To Marcelo, this is a gift from God.
Relations:
Ingrid Felicitas Olderock is a bitch in heat, insatiable just like her tortures. Monsignor Enrique Alvear Urrutia should worry less about his ridiculous provocations and more about the consequences for his behaviour. With Klaus Altmann is like looking at himself in the mirror. Teaser:
Blanca cradles her rifle as a child would with her favorite doll singing a rebellious lullaby. Her eyes are fierce, her smile is the unbreakable one of youth as she runs to a smoky basement, where she and her comrades print flyers speaking of revolution, armed fight and freedom. On a bright summer day, Blanca left her toys and her father’s mansion without looking back, her head held high, marching off to a red horizon. Red as her flag, red as the blood she would drown her innocence into. Is this the rightful price to pay for? If it is, then, let there be blood.

She despises her father Jorge Alfonsin for working alongside the Junta. When she still lived with him, before joining the MIR, she met at a formal dinner Nelida Gutierrez Rivera a social climber who betrayed her people. Teaser:
Since curfew, Umberto Edgardo has been leaving his factory with his low head and quick steps. Speaking up his mind was a folly he’s dearly paying living in fear, hurrying up to get back home to his wife Adriana and their daughter Marisol. Almost jumping whenever he hears a noise or spots someone unfamiliar in the streets. This is no life. It’s a daily routine made of suspicion, diffidence, silence and scare, of sham and chains. The same iron links he helped forging, now bend his shoulders and clench his throat, strangling him.
Relations:
He’s eyes are no longer shining as they did when he and his wife Adriana Urrutia Assenjo were young. Maria Elena Soza is the nurse who saved his leg after a bad accident, years before. Teaser:
Everyone who knew her would describe Maria Eliana Soza a quiet and methodic woman. It shouldn’t have come as a surprise, then, when she made the only rational possible choice, when she stopped working in Santiago’s hospital, to become Dottor Olivarez assistant and a DINA agent. Eliana is placid and practical, ma even frozen seas often hide rumbling volcanoes, waiting to explode and change the face of what they meet with destruction
Relations:
When working at the hospital, before President Pinochet, she took care of Umberto Egardo Mewes, saving his leg after a work accident. In this way she became a good friend of his wife Adriana Urrutia Assenji. Juan Felipe Cristobal looks haunted after their first and only encounter.

Teaser:
Being a hero is a duty if you bear the late President's name, if you are an Allende. An hero would get used to living on the edge, sleeping with a machine gun in one hand and the red flag clasped in the other. A hero would know how to live with his own fate, with his heart pounding in the throat, with the sour sweat running into his eyes and the awareness that any breath could be the last one. Unfortunate is the land that needs heroes and unlucky is the one to whom a cruel fate granted such a honor. Because no history book will ever speak of the fear freezing Pascal's blood and of the end looming as an ultimate, final, liberation.
Relations:
After the Junta took power, he gave an interview to Manuel Cabieses Donoso lashing out all his rage. He’s worried that his position in the MIR might endanger his mother Laura Allende. A few years back, while he was sitting with friends, a religious nut Juan Felipe Cristobal, threatened him with a knife, blabbling something about hell and communists.

Teaser: Adriana gave up herself into being a mother, a wife, a friend and a lover, an accomplice and a partner. She always did her best to satisfy Umberto and their daughter Marisol. She followed her husband to political meetings and took care of the child. Still, in Umberto’s eyes, she doesn’t see anymore the sweet love that once burned there, only dissatisfaction. And so Adriana feels she isn’t enough: not beautiful enough, or loyal to the cause, not enough motherly, firm and efficient. She’s unfit to a life, to a man, to a role. These failed expectations are a chain heavier than the holy vows binding and strangling her.
Relations: Umberto Edgardo Mewes is her husband, but things are not working between them. A few years back, nurse Maria Elena Soza saved her husband’s leg after a work accident. Since then they are good friends. She admires deeply Michelle Bachelet and would like to be so strong, passionate and fearless.

Teaser:
He loved living in the countryside, in his broad estate where he grew his fragrant flowers, admiring their colors, caressing their bent stem. He surrounded himself with delicate creatures, women and children he took under his vicious, voluptuous, painful care. He drunk on those desperate wails and thought about living forever in such blissful happiness, ruling over his own reign. But duty called and he joined the DINA in Villa Grimaldi. Now a new challenge was waiting for him, something that would make living his young flower for new meadows, embracing the opportunity of savoring new shades of human suffering, bending stronger will, like the wind with the grass of his beloved countryside.
Relations:
In Santiago he met Laura Allende sister to the late president; she’s an interesting woman, it’s just too bad for that communist name. Everyone at Villa Grimaldi appreciate Miguel and his commitment, but he doesn’t like the handyman; he thinks he’s too free to roam around. Alicia Gomez is a woman full of resources; he would have liked having her by his side in the countryside. Teaser:
As Christ the Lord had His disciples beside Him, Villot finds Benelli, the Vatican Vice Chancellor, an obedient and loyal aid at his side. ''Ora et labora'', breaking his silence to become the shield and oice of the Church against the hammer and sickle, denouncing the gangrene of communist propaganda, for all men are fickle and easily tempted, prone to listen to lies and slander. In such a world, how can one yearn for salvation? Prayers and penance inspired by the Lord are the only refuge and comfort from the anxieties of earthly life and from the ordeals that God the Almighty bestows upon His people, to gauge their strength, their faith and their true repentance.
Relations: Lately Jean Marie Villot has changed and barks orders at him, as he were a dog. Of all the men he met in his life, Joaquin Navarro Valls is one of those he despises more: the Monsignore is full of himself and acts as if he were God among men. It's been a while since he last met Prince Junio Valerio Borghese, an old acquaintance of aristocratic breed, with impeccable manners, taste, and a friendly ear to any personal request and need.

Teaser:
A nice mansion, couture dresses and galas: Amelia lives an upscale life, never asking, all deserving. She shares her fortune with the poors, those in need, organizing fundraising dinners, financing charity events, blaming her friends’ indifference and being the patroness of a soup kitchen run by the nuns. For many of her powerful friends charity is only one of her eccentric entertainments, one less interesting that her being able to speak with the dead. A woman of rare Christian morality, she smiles listening when she’s complimented on her good heart, and gracefully complies, when asked to show her talent.
Relations:
She once asked Josè Lopez Olivares to run a clinic for the less fortunate, but he laughed at her, telling her that if he’d wanted to be in charity business, then he’d be a priest. Two years ago Manuel rose from his desk at Punto Final and chose to resist . Walking on the streets of Santiago, from what his eyes saw, what he witnessed went into his pen and a stream of words began to flow for Chile deserves the deepest truth, among the lies and the silence. With ink and printed paper, he’s the voice of the people. With a straight, unbent back that blackjack couldn’t break, with free hands that questioning couldn’t mutilate, he writes. But being a witness to the light, can get close to the death's shadow.
Relations:
One year ago he interviewed Andrei Pascal Allende, a symbol on the armed fight against the regime. He learned that man like him are worthy of any sacrifice. Teaser:
Raised with strong Christian values, Doctor Romero is a fervent and militant pacifist. With his rainbow-coloured scarf around his neck and his doctor's bag under his arm he roams Santiago's streets, looking for people in need of help and medical care. His job in the hospital is not enough for him, he knows that he is required elsewhere, where only the kind-hearted people dare to go. It's the right thing to do and it fufills his life, a life spent to help the poors and the needy. Sometimes other doctors make fun of him, telling that he's like Saint Francis but, to be honest, Romero quite enjoys those words: is the only quirk he allows himself in a life without vanity, where all that matters is the help he can give to the others.

So many memories fill Hector’s soul: the warm mid-winter afternoons spent talking about politics and freedom in a cafè, his job as a Sociology Professor. So many dreams fill Hector’s heart… the red flags under September’s wind, people chanting Allende’s name, Ofelia’s bright eyes, the party meetings and the raw joy of being called “dad” for the first time. His dreams of freedom are now buried deeply, under the icy fear of losing everything he has dearest.
