“No elections; armed fight is the only way!” (MIR’s motto).

MIR is an extreme left movement driven by class conflict and against capitalism. It’s the armed resistance to the regime. Its components are city guerrilla, ready to sacrifice themselves for the cause: overthrow Pinochet. They are revolutionaries, man and women who fight for the rights of the lower classes, faithful to the idea of armed conflict as the key to establish a just society through insurrection.
Democracy is only one of the many faces of the dictatorship of the rich that bind Chile to american capitalism. Armed conflict is the only way to free the country.

Members of the MIR will face a tough game of resistance and strong conflict with the members of the regime and their collaborators, and also with whomever does not embrace armed conflict.
THEMES: armed class conflict, revolution, betrayal, ideals.

Teaser:

Blanca cradles her rifle as a child would with her favorite doll singing a rebellious lullaby. Her eyes are fierce, her smile is the unbreakable one of youth as she runs to a smoky basement, where she and her comrades print flyers speaking of revolution, armed fight and freedom. On a bright summer day, Blanca left her toys and her father’s mansion without looking back, her head held high, marching off to a red horizon. Red as her flag, red as the blood she would drown her innocence into. Is this the rightful price to pay for? If it is, then, let there be blood.

Relations:

She despises her father Jorge Alfonsin   for working alongside the Junta. When she still lived with him, before joining the MIR, she met at a formal dinner Nelida Gutierrez Rivera   a social climber who betrayed her people. A few years back Ramira Luz   took service in the Alfonsin residence; she came from the countryside and between them blossomed a strong friendship. When Ramira quit, they got out of touch.
