Teaser:
As Vatican Chancellor, the Cardinal casts his shadow far beyond Rome. Villot has made earthly politics his cross to bear and his mission to fulfill, surrounding himself with powerful and strong apostles, loyal and obedient soldiers of Christ. He is a servant of the State, of the State of God, and as such he pursues the Vatican's interests. True faith is the means to an end; there is no room for the illusions that led him to follow the divine vocationl that got lost among the velvets of the Holy See.
Relations:
Giovanni Benelli is the vice Chancellor and like any good politician Villot has him by the balls. Should he ever try to outsmart him, he will feed him to the sharks. Licio Gelli has enlightened him: that unwordly voice he once heard as a young priest, is strong within the Venerable: together they will give birth to a new religion. Monsignor Joaquin Navarro Valls is almost a friend, and the two respect each other, even though he envies Vall's meteoric ascent and career in the Vatican.

Teaser:
As Christ the Lord had His disciples beside Him, Villot finds Benelli, the Vatican Vice Chancellor, an obedient and loyal aid at his side. ''Ora et labora'', breaking his silence to become the shield and oice of the Church against the hammer and sickle, denouncing the gangrene of communist propaganda, for all men are fickle and easily tempted, prone to listen to lies and slander. In such a world, how can one yearn for salvation? Prayers and penance inspired by the Lord are the only refuge and comfort from the anxieties of earthly life and from the ordeals that God the Almighty bestows upon His people, to gauge their strength, their faith and their true repentance.
Relations: Lately Jean Marie Villot has changed and barks orders at him, as he were a dog. Of all the men he met in his life, Joaquin Navarro Valls is one of those he despises more: the Monsignore is full of himself and acts as if he were God among men. It's been a while since he last met Prince Junio Valerio Borghese, an old acquaintance of aristocratic breed, with impeccable manners, taste, and a friendly ear to any personal request and need.

Teaser:
When he was a child, Licio wanted to become a puppet master. It's ironic how he, somehow, realized his dream. They call him Venerable, but it has little to do with his age or his power. Like a snake, he slides unseen through politics and high finance, protected by his good friends, sure he will be unpunished. When you are controlling so many strings some of them can eventually get tangled or even break, but a good theatrical always knows when it's time to cut them.
Relations:
They say that Cardinal Jean Marie Villot lost his soul: nevermind, he can give him his own. He’s eager to see again Manuel Contreras. The Colonel is a good friend who recently gained even more power and autonomy, which are always useful. He wants to talk to the Prince Julio Valerio Borghese: they have known each other for a long time, and they do great things together.

Teaser:
You must dare to live, that's all. Stefano delle Chiaie is not afraid to tempt fate or challenge himself everyday. He is proud of his reckless lifestyle and he enjoys doing the dirty work. He has good friends who can pull strings for him, fill up his bank account and absolve him in the confessional. Sometimes, however, friendship is like a cruel lover: passionate during the night but cold and distant in the morning light.
Relations:
Luis Posada Carriles is more like a brother than a friend, they share the same reckless attitude and love for challenges. They have met often while travelling and get along well. He has just met Michael Townley, but they hit off immediately: he's the brain and Stefano could be the muscle, they could do great things together. Umberto Ortolani, often rubs into his face all the help he gave him, but seems to forget too easily the dirty work Stefano had done for him.

Teaser:
The brightest destinies are granted to men of his blood. Prince Borghese has always known this, since when, back in Italy, he spun his webs to raise a black flag over the places of power. A flag as black as the blood running through his veins. In Chile, that same flag has been raised over “La Moneda”: a green, fertile, soil on where to experiment a new order. Black blossoms will bloom over shaken hands and signed pacts, for those three colors waving over Rome will shift to the black of the night, once and for all.
Relations:
Licio Gelli insisted on having him for this mission, he will try his best to not disappoint the Venerable. In the high-society salons of Rome he met Consuelo Fisher fascinating and clever: they can do great deals together. He has known Cardinal Benelli for a long time: they share the noble origins and the same feelings about society.
