The characters and the stories presented in DESAPARECIDOS are inspired by people and real facts, but their description and characterization is totally the result of imagination.
In the writing of the event numerous liberties have been taken, especially as regards the characterization of the characters, the images used and the succession of the various events, which never claim to reflect the reality of the facts or behavior of historical characters.
The interpretation of the players and the evolution of the narrative will lead to moments and events quite distant from historical reality.
It is not intention of the authors to express any specific position or to make judgments on specific facts that actually occurred -except to condemn the use of any form of violence by anyone- nor to diminish in any way the historical and personal tragedy of the Chilean people and thousands of families involved in the drama of the desaparecidos.
Teaser:
One might wonder what kind of guilt is born by one who walks the path to Hell. What sins hide in his soul that he is able to walk unscathed past the infernal dogs standing on watch. Monsignor Urrutia shows strength in his faith, a heart full of hope, forgiveness and salvation, bringing the blazing holy word of God into the deepest darkness. Under his robe soaked with sweat, tears, blood and only God knows what else, Enrique, trembles, shaken by guilt, doubts and anger. For where there is deafening silence, God is absent, and the pain is even worse seeing those who should scream their outrage, remain silent. As it is looking in a mirror.
Relations:
Omar Venturelli Lionelli has made a name for himself and sooner or later will be a problem for the Church. Even when he had yet to realize what was happening, Cardinal Silva Enriquez never abandoned him; now they fight alongside each other. His previous meetings with Marcelo Moren Brito were not without threats and evil words; he doesn’t know how long he’ll be able to keep it up, but Faith will give him strength. Suor Valeria Valentin is a gift from God to the Chilean Church; working beside her is a -dangerous- honour.
#4 - Cardinal Silva Enriquez, The Spirit of the Gospel (Character played by E. D.)
Motto:
God will not forsake unless He is forsaken.
(St. Augustine) Alignment: The clergy - Group: Solidaridad - Nationality: Chile - Gender: Male - Player's Age: any age - DISCLAIMER: Disclaimer:

Teaser:
Mankind is used to failure. Men are flawed, but God gave them intellect and the opportunity to understand and make up for their mistakes. A Cardinal is a man, and as such is not exempt from error, but now, withstanding the spread darkness, Silva Enriquez faces the Junta and the highest clerics, for the Chilean Church should be among those in need of care and Christian solidarity. The crying, the wailing, can’t be ignored in silence any more. So he falls to his knees in front of the weakest souls, and stands as shield against those who would sacrifice them.
Relations:
Now that Enrique Alvear Urrutia is by his side, he feels alone no more. Manuel Contreras has subtly threatened him to shut him up, should he keep disrupting the routine police operation. How can Monsignor Jorge Arturo Medina Estevez still be blind to the pain around him, focused only on his career?
#7 - Sister Valeria Valentin, The crown of thorns (Character played by L. A.)
Motto:
Hope is a risk that must be run. It’s the riskest risk.
(G. Bernanos) Alignment: The clergy - Group: Solidaridad - Nationality: Chile - Gender: Female - Player's Age: any age - DISCLAIMER: Disclaimer:

Teaser:
Since arriving in Chile, Sister Valeria has always cared for the less fortunate. After September 11th ‘73, she fought to save the lives of the so-called dissidents, mostly people trying to survive. She often wonders what gives her the strength to face the abuses without fear: are courage and compassion gifts of God's grace? Those who are seeding death and injustice, shall harvest their own fall. Let them try to silence the helpless cries, fearing judgment; and fear they should, for the Almighty will hear. Tremble they shall, for when the soldiers of Christ walk among the innocents, the unrighteous will fall into their own darkness
Relations:
Monsignor Enrique Alvear Urrutia and Cardinal Silva Enriquez rely on her, but sometimes it feels like they wish her to be the first one to take action.
She has known Antonia Castro for quite some time, she is a fervent Catholic, always willing to help the Church. Sister Ana Luz de la Vega is a dear girl, overwhelmed by events much bigger than her.
#8 - Sister Ana Luz De La Vega, The blackcap (Character played by F. C.)
Motto:
Only those who love hopelessly know love.

Teaser:
An obedient and holy life is that of nuns: early birds singing and praising their love for God, blessing His fruits with dutiful prayers and loving meditation. So many haunted nights Ana spent in her dark and cold cell, wandering through the thoughts of her sinful love, holding to the burning caress she felt on her heart. But without air fires die down, lungs dry out and the breath suffocates. Without air, Ana choked and was buried under ashes, in silence Sister Luz was born.
Relations:
Monsignor Jorge Arturo Medina Estevez is a family friend, he made every effort to save her soul. Sister Valeria Valentin took her under her wing, she is supporting Ana in her troubled journey to salvation. Some months ago, while she was serving in the soup kitchen, she met Amalia De Villa Gonzales, who used to visit her mother quite often, again.
