#88 - Vogg Knuth, The trader from the Shivering Sea (personaggio interpretato da H. K.)
Motto: The colder the water, the richest the fish. Provenienza: International - Gruppo: Free Cities - I viaggiatori delle Città Libere - Genere: maschio - Età dell'interprete: qualsiasi
Teaser: The Shivering Sea. A wide-spreading water expanse separating the peoples of Essos from the frozen wilderness of the White Waste, bounded to the West by the Northern coast of Westeros and stretching to the East to lands and seas unknown. Its shores, its waters, its countless rocky islands and sea stacks teeming with fish and fowl and sea-beasts, prized for their flesh as well as for their feather, bone, hide, oil or ivory: seals, narwhals, walruses, whitebirds, whales of every sort, krakens and leviathans. Not to speak of the treasures of the land which abound up its shores - rare timber and furs, gold and amber and ancient treasures.
The island nation of Ibben stands in the midst of these waters; from there hunting, fishing and whaling vessels, as well as many merchantmen, set sail towards East, West, South and North reaching up to the remotest shores of Essos and Westeros. All lands seek the wares coming from the icy waters of utmost North, and all lands have great wealth to trade them for; Vogg Knuth is just one among many Ibbenese who can be found trading ashore, but his frequent voyages to the wealthiest ports of the Free Cities and Westeros make him one of the most experienced.
Legami: He joined the Braavos legation following his old trading partner Belario, who sells him Westerian furs and hidework in exchange for sealskin and ivory and precious wares from the lands North and East. Through Thorar Vassel he has a small account at the Iron Bank of Braavos, convenient for a man from Ibben who spends months trading in Western waters. A few times he also traded with Alia Deem: Ambergris is precious and not easily found, as are some spices from Southern lands that some wealthy Ibbenese are fond of. [to be completed]
#90 - Revyz of the Two Blades, the indomitable queen of the pits (personaggio interpretato da T. N.)
Motto: Living and dying isn't the real issue. If you cling to being alive, you become frightened and your eyes get clouded. If you don't have that desire to begin with, you can fight on, right to the end of the world. Provenienza: International - Gruppo: Free Cities - I viaggiatori delle Città Libere - Genere: femmina - Età dell'interprete: qualsiasi - any age - Archetipi: (clicca per descrizione) tenace
Teaser: Morality and justice don't really suit Revyz. Coin and blades: when you're living on the edge, that's all that matters to you because that's all you've really got. Until a short time ago, she fought in the pits of Meereen, her name cheered by the bloodthirsty crowds among the names most hailed: the Spotted Cat; Barsena Blackhair; the Jackal; Belaquo Bonebreaker; Garrar the Eunuch; Senaera She-Snake; the Bastard Stallion... and Revyz of the Two Blades. Until that bitch from the West had the pits closed.
So she left, before it was too late, and went West seeking fortune: something to loot or someone willing to pay for her blades to kill - if not in a fighting pit, then let it be in the alleys again, or wherever else. With no power and no friends, what's left for a poor little Eastern bitch to rely on? It's coin, of course, and blades. With these two things, the world's a great place.
Legami: While in Volantis she was hired by Turenvyse on behalf of her master, in order to escort one of his pupils on a short trip to visit the ruins of Sar Mell. Later on, Turenvyse approached her again saying some people travelling West (among which her master and two sorcerers from the east) sought a skilled fighter to travel with them as bodyguard, and she accepted. She hadn't expected to see again Garrar the Eunuch and Warrek aka the Bastard Stallion, who had left Meereen long before she did; she respects their combat skills: if she'd happened to be pitted against one of them, it'd have been a good, hard fight. There's a bearded guy whose face looks kind of familiar... she must have seen him before.
#103 - Lalaina, The trusted scribe (personaggio interpretato da M. C.)
Motto: The strategy I would suggest, Master, is letting the barbarian win; then he will be more favorably disposed for a deal. Provenienza: International - Gruppo: Free Cities - I viaggiatori delle Città Libere - Genere: femmina - Età dell'interprete: qualsiasi - any age - Consigli: Preferably, the player should be able to speak both decent English and a little Italian. Should wear a servant's collar.
Teaser: When a girl is made a slave, sharpness of mind can be her greatest boon. Since she was a kid, Lalaina was taught writing and counting, languages and diplomacy; as the other ones were sent to become pleasure slaves or worse, she could be trained to higher tasks. Her home a distant, faded memory, she was bought and sold, she was instructed and she learned, and she acquired value. Ever humble, ever diligent, until her best chance: she showed off just as much as it needed to catch the eye of the right buyer. A rich house where to live and work, and a city in the West where there is no slavery. She still has to wear a collar, and she's not fooled by what the laws may say - she's still a slave in all but the name. Still, it's an improvement - yet another of many, little steps, and there are bound to be more. Patience bears fruits.
Legami: In service of Magister Illyrio: an influent master who appreciates her skills and treats her fairly; she assist him and also helps him relay his orders to his guards. In Braavos there really is no slavery; maybe she would do even better if she could be employed by someone from there? Possibly Alia Deem, though the best mistress would likely be Quill Volentin. On the other hand, she's somewhat distrustful of Enrio and Iorio, the two Bravos - perhaps they're not bad fellows, but she fears they could become a bit rough if they're too excited or drink too much. Unlike the humble Beqqo, who seems to share some of her attitudes. She's a bit envious of Gaelen: though she and her master Theynian Fyo come from a land rife with slaves, she's not one, and seems to enjoy more freedom than Lalaina herself. Could Theynian be a better master? or are Braavos and the Westeros safer choices for her? She likes Qotho's poignant music.
#104 - Dun Rat, The strict Unsullied (personaggio interpretato da N. S.)
Motto: This one has the honour of serving the Master; serving the Master well gives me- gives this one pride. Provenienza: International - Gruppo: Free Cities - I viaggiatori delle Città Libere - Genere: maschio - Età dell'interprete: qualsiasi - any age - Consigli: If possbile, should wear a servant's collar. - Archetipi: (clicca per descrizione) Tenace
Teaser: In the East, these ones were many, and were alike; they trained and they served, all of them. In the West, these ones serve a new Master; but you are few in his service, and he can tell you apart.
Some of you seem to have changed; You heard them say 'I'. But this one must not stray; such is the way this one was trained, such is the way this one will serve.
Now, yet further West, this one is with less than a handful. This one knows their faces, their names, as you know, as this one knows the Master's. But this one must be firm and not stray.
Legami: In the service of Illyrio Mopatis; Lalaina is his assistant and also helps him relay his orders to Dun Rat. Comrade-in-arms of Brown Lizard, with whom he served for years in Qohor. Approves the way younger Yellow Dog shows he can keep his discipline.
#105 - Brown Lizard, The doubtful Unsullied (personaggio interpretato da N. L.)
Motto: If the Master has no need of this one now, I would ask permission to take some rest. If the Master needs me, he will find this one at the tavern for a meal.
In the West, you serve a new Master; but you are few in his service, and he can tell you apart.
Many of you have changed; now you have one name, and you think 'I'. You know you should not stray; such is the way you were trained, such is the way you should serve.
Yet your hand has not become less strong, your spear not less firm, for keeping one name; yet you do not feel weaker for thinking 'I'. And food is good in the West...
Legami: In the service of Illyrio Mopatis; Lalaina is his assistant and also helps him relay his orders to Brown Lizard. Comrade-in-arms and friend of Dun Rat, with whom he served for years in Qohor. In good terms with younger Yellow Dog. Intrigued about the scents wafting from Alia Deem's wares; Assadora has told him about the dishes and liqueurs some of those spices are used to make.
#106 - Yellow Dog, The green Unsullied (personaggio interpretato da C. K.)
Motto: The Master will be pleased of this one, as he is of the others. Provenienza: International - Gruppo: Free Cities - I viaggiatori delle Città Libere - Genere: maschio - Età dell'interprete: qualsiasi - any age - Consigli: If possbile, should wear a servant's collar. - Archetipi: (clicca per descrizione) tenace
Teaser: In the East, Unsullied are trained by the thousand and sold by the hundred; they have no fixed names, and all are alike, trained all life as perfect warriors. But in the West, you can be few serving one Master; you keep one name, and you are different from each other.
This will not mean you will fail your training: perfect obedience and flawless guardsmanship. Your fellows are older than you, have trained and served longer, and still they serve impeccably; you will show them that you are worthy too.
You shall train every day; you shall obey and serve your Master; you should not eye women too much, for their beauty should not be for you.
Legami: In the service of Illyrio Mopatis; Lalaina is his assistant and also helps him relay his orders to Yellow Dog. Comrade-in-arms of older Dun Rat and Brown Lizard, but only since a few months; in good terms with them (though he criticizes Brown Lizard).
#108 - Lysillo of Pentos, The Hand of Fire (personaggio interpretato da S. S.)
Motto: Faith is not the belief God will do what you want. It is the belief god will do what is right. Provenienza: International - Gruppo: Free Cities - I viaggiatori delle Città Libere - Genere: maschio - Età dell'interprete: qualsiasi - any age - Archetipi: (clicca per descrizione) Alchimista
Teaser: From Pentos, a warrior, a faithful, a defender of the temple. This you've always practiced during the long nights on watch, and in dispensing the justice of thy God, during the many holy rites to which you lent your mighty arm. A life of faithful service who now calls you to protect its most important priestess. In no way will the heretic be allowed to undermine your task, and indeed this will be a chance to show the western continent who is the only true God. If not with words, with arms in hand.
Legami: He considers protecting Lady Tyrissa as a divine mission; he cooperates with her and admires her closeness to God; unlike Jaena, who forsook the Faith for the sake of an unhallowed child. Tyrissa has told him about Lewyn Martell's visions. He doesn't trust the mummers, yet he's obliged to suffer their presence. Knows Harlen of Lys, and also knows well Thoros of Myr, with whom he fought some heretics, but by now he thinks him dead. Admires Horeo Jafah for his warlike skills, though he fights for the wrong God.
#113 - Ayht Xaxon, The resentful Sorcerer (personaggio interpretato da C. R.)
Motto: It is by will alone one can wield Magic. It is by the Shade-of-the-Evening that thoughts acquire power, the lips acquire stains, the stains become a warning. It is by will alone one can wield Magic. Provenienza: International - Gruppo: Free Cities - I viaggiatori delle Città Libere - Genere: maschio - Età dell'interprete: qualsiasi - any age - Archetipi: (clicca per descrizione) Poteri mistici, Alchimista
Teaser: For centuries, after the Doom of Valyria, the House of the Undying has strived to keep alight in the world what Magic was left. Now some of the embers have been rekindled under the ashes, but the cost has been great: the House itself has burned, many of Ayht Xaxon's peers and betters have perished; it is by mere chance that he still lives, and he still bears the marks from the flames. Now his order needs Magic even more; and now more embers are going to be rekindled far away in the West... He will not fail to be there; he can't allow another fire to be set alight by fools who can't control it, lest either it be smothered, or allowed to burn too wild.
Legami: Fellow in the Arcane Arts of Ydlyn Iyidae, who acts as his assistant. Knows Norenno Maegyr, who contacted him for journeying West together. He requested the group to hire a bodyguard for the journey; he's a bit unsure about the guard being a woman, but she looks tough. He'd heard about Illyrio Mopatis, a powerful man in the West; would he be a possible ally, could he be an obstacle? His guards are not to be underestimated - though the Unsullied's strength is in numbers. Lysillo of Pentos could be a good ally, providing his fanatism doesn't prevent him from recognising Ayht is the real expert. Theynian Fyo is one of the richest and most influential men in Qarth; their agendas certainly widely agree, though perhaps not completely. If things get rough, the help of Laswell Peake and his sellswords could be useful; would Theynian be willing to fund their hiring?
#114 - Ydlyn Iyidae, The shrewd Sorceress (personaggio interpretato da T. I.)
Motto: Don't leave a flame burn unattended. Do not attend a fire if you are drunk. Provenienza: International - Gruppo: Free Cities - I viaggiatori delle Città Libere - Genere: femmina - Età dell'interprete: qualsiasi - any age - Archetipi: (clicca per descrizione) Poteri mistici
Teaser: For centuries, after the Doom of Valyria, the House of the Undying has strived to keep alight in the world what Magic was left. Now that some of the embers have been rekindled under the ashes, the House itself has burned, and all Ydlyn Iyidae's elders with it. Now her order needs Magic even more; and now more embers are going to be rekindled far away in the west... Her fellow Sorcerer has been dispatched there, and she has been sent to assist him in his mission. He won't allow another fire to be set alight by fools who can't control it; and maybe she should take care he doesn't get burned himself like the others did.
Legami: Fellow in the Arcane Arts of Ayht Xaxon, who she accompanies and assists. Knows Norenno Maegyr, who contacted her for journeying West together. She suggested the group would hire a bodyguard for the journey, and approved the choice of Revyz. She'd heard about Illyrio Mopatis, a powerful man in the West; he could he be an obstacle if his agenda is at odds with theirs, but does it necessarily have to be? His servant Lalaina is a smart one, maybe more than her master. Has a feeling she and Quill Volentin could find they're in agreement. Tyrissa could be a good ally (providing her fanatism doesn't make her unreasonable). Theynian Fyo is one of the richest and most influential men in Qarth; their agendas certainly widely agree, though perhaps not completely.
#115 - Norenno Maegyr, The sage, expert about Valyria (personaggio interpretato da V. B.)
Motto: Lore cannot be handed down, it can only be preserved. Provenienza: International - Gruppo: Free Cities - I viaggiatori delle Città Libere - Genere: maschio - Età dell'interprete: qualsiasi - any age - Consigli: Preferably, the player should be able to speak both decent English and a little Italian. The Character has a cripple leg. - Archetipi: (clicca per descrizione) Alchimista
Teaser: The sunlight that in these days of travel is lighting up Norenno's sky is something unusual for him, accustomed to prefer the glow of a candle or a lamp. Or the light of the knowledge guarded through years and years of jealous readings in the library of Volantis, one of the oldest and grandest. And certainly one of the better stocked with a certain type of tomes. Histories of ancient empires, founded on the power of dragons, tales of the time when Magic was the greatest power. He alone was able to access these rarities and despite the frequent letters received by the most influential scholars and Maesters, he alone is still keeping their secrets.
Therefore, they could not turn but to him, those noble families who have decided to reconstruct the ancient manor of Summerhall, because his advice is worth more than gold. He may be old and his legs no more so nimble, but the lure of that castle was too strong even for him. Every secret has within itself the key to be revealed, but only to those who hold the right lockpick.
Legami: He had study contacts with many of the scholars present, from Marwyn the Mage to Ser Gunthor Hightower, all surely envious of his knowledge and longing to have him shell out some. He was contacted by both the Martells in the person of Lady Arianne Martell and the Tyrells through Lady Aemma Tyrell to help them unlock the secrets of the castle. It was he who contacted the wayfarers from Qarth (Ayht Xaxon, Ydlyn Iyidae, Theynian Fyo with their servants and hirelings) and brought the party together; indeed he considers them very expert, though obviously not on his level. For many years he hosted Lady Tiana Martell in Volantis, teaching her all he knew about history and alchemy. Melian was a very young and curious girl when he met her; he introduced her to the mysteries and beauty of knowledge and studies, and provided her with the first books she read from the Library of Volantis. Turenvyse is his most trusted assistant and helper.
#116 - Turenvyse, The skilled assistant (personaggio interpretato da N. N.)
Motto: ...and a spot of vitriol! (aha, I knew it'd be a good idea...) Provenienza: International - Gruppo: Free Cities - I viaggiatori delle Città Libere - Genere: femmina - Età dell'interprete: qualsiasi - any age - Consigli: Preferably, shoud have a slave's tattoo on her face (does not need to be cospicuous) - Archetipi: (clicca per descrizione) Alchimista, Cerusica
Teaser: A good servant is as valuable as gold, and a good master is as precious as gemstones. The best servant is the one who knows and does what the master wants, being like his own eyes, hands and head; and a good master is the one who needs exactly what you like to do, and has you do it. Turenvyse may be not as knowledgeable as her master is, but is as clever and as skilful in everything that matters, be it taking care of the most delicate tasks or assisting him to contrive wonders in the laboratory - or making sure that, while pondering deep and arcane questions, he doesn't overlook some practical details. Ultimately, everyone must serve, and no one's really free. The real difference between being a slave and being free? No one's a slave who can do what they likes to do most of their time.
Legami: In service of Norenno Maegyr; while working with him, she also met some of his students, among which Melian and Tiana Martell. Not long ago she'd hired Revyz to escort Tiana on a visit to the ruins of Sar Mell; when the sorceress Ydlyn and her fellow Ayht suggested that the group should hire a bodyguard before travelling West, she contacted Revyz again. The merchant Alia Deem deals in all sorts of exotic spices - should Turenvyse and her master need something special, she could be the first one they could ask to. The sellsword Oggo also seems inclined to accept a private hire, should they need some other henchman. Years ago, she knew Corren Goodbutter; a weird man, but quite wise in the Art; Guwyn, whom she met once in Pentos, is also very skilled, but not as wise. Once a Rhoynar lady bought some rare substances from her; in another occasion, she sold some philtres of seduction to the spoiled daughter of some Westerosi merchant.
#117 - Theynian Fyo, The Merchant Exotic (personaggio interpretato da A. S.)
Motto: A Deal Is A Deal. Provenienza: International - Gruppo: Free Cities - I viaggiatori delle Città Libere - Genere: maschio - Età dell'interprete: qualsiasi - any age - Archetipi: (clicca per descrizione) Ricco
Teaser: Originally a native of Leng, he has been a citizen of Qarth for more than 20 years, yet he has not changed his manner of clothing. He still favours to wear many layers of silks and various extravagant robes, and does not bother much about the weather; he favours red and purple silks. His skin and hair are meticulously groomed, and his gaze is quite hypnotic.
A tireless traveling merchant, he is seldom to be found within the city walls. He will sell anything to anyone, buy almost anything from anyone, and trade most things with most people, as his late friend Xaro once put it. He is a sly, witty, iron-nerved, sometimes oily wheeler-dealer, and as he makes his way through the lands dealing in anything from loads of fresh manure to slaves, his eyes miss little...
Legami: Has Gaelen at his service, and is quite satisfied with her. Knows Norenno Maegyr, who contacted him for journeying West together. In business with the much wealthy merchant Edgar Morgrin, an influent and loyal man. He is a bit perplexed about seeing Illyrio Mopatis keep just a small handful of Unsullied - they're usually only found in large hosts.
#118 - Gaelen, The solicitous servant (personaggio interpretato da O. A.)
Motto: Survival is the ability to swim in strange waters Provenienza: International - Gruppo: Free Cities - I viaggiatori delle Città Libere - Genere: femmina - Età dell'interprete: qualsiasi - any age - Consigli: Suitable for a player who likes to meddle in other characters' plots or to have a role in things without being directly involved in the action. - Archetipi: (clicca per descrizione) Cerusico
Teaser: Sometimes you need to leave to find what you need; sometimes a foreign country offers occasions you wouldn't find at home. Like being employed in the service of such a rich and influential merchant. This not only involves a good pay and a respected house to work in, but also lots of interesting experiences, and the chance for Gaelen to see more foreign places and meet strange people as she accompanies her master in his business travels... Now, for example, they're preparing to sail for yet further West - all the way to Westeros. How else could she have managed to reach such exotic, faraway country? She looks forward to meet the people there, and she's sure the voyage will be a most useful experience.
Legami: In the service of Theynian Fyo, an excellent master who always takes her along in his journeys. Illyrio Mopatis looks a merchant as wealthy and influent as her master; who knows what tales could he tell? Assadora also seems to have had a compelling past. Tyrissa and Lysillo are the first members of the notorious Red Cult she had the opportunity to meet closely; she doesn't really know much about their cult, she'd be curious to learn more. She'd never seen a show like the Mummers', in the East they do things differently... she really must learn how they do it. The wise folks Norenno, Ayht and Ydlyn are awesome: sorcery, alchemy, lore are such complicated things... luckily her master allows Gaelen time to read, otherwise she wouldn't even understand what is they do. Isn't Unwin Peake proud of his father Laswell? How many adventures could they have lived through?
#122 - Garrar the eunuch, The former Gladiator from the East (personaggio interpretato da M. W.)
Motto: Fear what you control not, since anything is safe only if you hold it tight in the palm of your hand. Provenienza: International - Gruppo: Free Cities - I viaggiatori delle Città Libere - Genere: maschio - Età dell'interprete: qualsiasi - any age - Archetipi: (clicca per descrizione) Tenace
Teaser: Five times alive, five times hailed by the madding crowd of the pits of Meereen, when he still had the power to give death or freedom. Five like the fingers of one hand, the one that has always pulled him out of trouble. A strong guy, looking for trouble, troublemaker, unfaithful and eunuch. It was natural for him to end up surrounded by people of his ilk. The thought of the Western continent, then, only adds to the thrill in his hands, which he thinks will not stay empty for much longer. And being second in command, after all, should mean something.
Legami: He's always hanged around shady or disreputable fellows such as Oggo Vollf and Golden Marg. It seems to him he 's already seen Yellow Dog somewhere and can't wait to have a chat with him. He has always respected Laswell Peake's orders even though he's never liked his way of doing things. Considers Addro a savage and has already taunted him multiple times. Yajes Three Legs is a talented sellsword who served several years in the Golden Company as Company Commander; they appreciate each other, but are not friends. Warrek, the bastard Stallion of Meereen, was one of the few warriors of Meereen to gain freedom from very young; they appreciate each other, but are not friends. Revyz of the Two Blades was also a pit fighter; he'd not seen her since he'd left Meereen.
#125 - Lysa Maar, The Master of Subterfuge (personaggio interpretato da M. W.)
Motto: The best secret, is the one which has no witness. Provenienza: International - Gruppo: Free Cities - I viaggiatori delle Città Libere - Genere: femmina - Età dell'interprete: qualsiasi - any age - Archetipi: (clicca per descrizione) Alchimista
Teaser: Lysa has never loved hassles; having always been used to dealing with tough and stubborn men, she found several other ways to achieve her goals. Not for nothing all the women of the free cities wonder how it is possible a foreigner from the East is able to withstand service in the Golden Company. But life in Jinqui has taught her a lot, and sometimes a well-chosen word or the right hat have sealed doors be opened and allow to hear interesting talks.
For several years, by now, she's been enjoying her work; she's definitely the best in the field, but in later times she sees the Company almost like a family.
Maybe the carefree time is over and it's time to get serious.
Legami: Knows Unwin Peake and believes he has a great future ahead of him, despite his young age. She's always worked with his father, Laswell Peake under the contracts the Golden Company secures all over the known world. Once, she gave Oggo Vollf the task of keeping an eye on Unwin Peake and teaching him the craft, but the issue ended badly and since that day she can't stand the presence of her comrade-in-arms. Yajes Three Legs is a talented sellsword who served several years in the Golden Company as Company Commander with his right arm and friend Warrek, the bastard Stallion of Meereen, who was one of the few warriors of Meereen to gain freedom when still very young.
#126 - Addro, The renegade Dothraki (personaggio interpretato da A. S.)
Motto: There are men who rely on cunning, others rely on fear, yet others let themselves be smacked by life; then there are the Dothraki. Provenienza: International - Gruppo: Free Cities - I viaggiatori delle Città Libere - Genere: maschio - Età dell'interprete: qualsiasi - any age - Consigli: The character has a visible scar.
Teaser: When the Khalasar called, Addro was not ready. His long braid tinkling with bells was cut off almost effortlessly, in the dark of that night lit by a thousand fires. After a lifetime riding horses, at the service of Khal Shiko, he'd allowed himself to be caught right at the wrongest time. Because a drunk and humiliated Ko is not even worthy of death. From that moment on fighting for his life, outside the Khalasar along with his shattered pride, was the hardest battle.
Maybe joining the Company saved him from an inevitable end as a vagrant or perhaps it'll bring him even closer to death. But a Dothraki is always ready to face the end in battle; the same cannot be said of a life in exile.
But if really it must be death, let it at least be far from all these 'maegi' who plague us with their presence and defy the sacred laws of nature.
Legami: Respects the orders and authority of Laswell Peake, the only one who gave him his trust thus far; he met on mission his son Unwin Peake although he hasn't shed a drop of sweat in battle. After missions he likes to forget his origins and go for a drink with Oggo Vollf and Golden Marg, although often Garrar the Eunuch's provocations make him desist. He saw what dangerous people he set journeying with: such folks as Ayht Xaxon and Ydlyn Iyidae should be stopped right away, before they can doom us all with their evil practices.
