The enemy did a good job. The Gothic Line was strong, the mountains were hard to climb. Soon the winter will come, and until spring it will be impossible overcome the valleys and reach Bologna. It was a matter of time, the Command knew it well. Without the support of the rebel forces noone could break the German Defense. Staying for months, waiting for the thaw, will be an unuseful waste. The cities were crushed, deaths, wounds. We need to hasten, take contact with the Partisans and create a break in the German lines. Sgt. Carter is a good soldier, a fighter, a tactician, a wise man. He was the one who could talk to the rebels, and push them to victory.
